Our Bodies Hold the Medicine (Podcast)

I sat down with Melinda (of Awakening Airwaves) for a conversation that went deeper than I expected it to — and I think that’s exactly what happens when two people who do this work get talking.

We started where I usually start with clients: the body. Not the body as a problem to manage, but as a place that’s been keeping score this whole time. I talked about my own path into energy medicine, and how much of it came from listening to what my body was already trying to tell me, long before I had language for it.

A lot of our talk circled around balance — and I pushed back a little on how we usually think about that word. Balance isn’t a fixed point you land on and stay. Energy moves. It’s always moving. So the goal isn’t stillness, it’s staying in relationship with the movement: knowing how to recalibrate, how to come back to yourself, again and again.

We also went into first chakra work — the intelligence that lives there, and how much of it is ancestral. Our relationship with our family of origin, and our relationship with our own body, are more tangled together than most of us realize. I shared a bit about El Viejo, a wise one who taught me something I still lean on: that so much of what we think is fixed is actually something we have real choice in.

If you’re in a season of transition, uncertainty, loss, illness, or something you can’t quite name but can feel — this conversation is for you. You don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong to start. You just have to be willing to pause and listen.
